Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1+ years of current NICU experience required License: Active Texas or Compact RN license required Certifications: - Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required - Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required Must-Have: - Must disclose any previous employment history in profile - Resume required - Skills Checklist specific to NICU required - 2 supervisory references from within the last year required - Proof of Taxable Address required Description: The RN is a licensed professional who coordinates patient care delivery. The focus is on specific patient populations and health conditions. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses. The RN develops and implements an individualized plan of care. Evaluation of the patient's response is a critical component of care. The RN utilizes knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment. Assisting patients in transitioning through the healthcare encounter is essential. The RN works to prevent complications or delays. Delegation of interventions to healthcare personnel is based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act. The delegation considers each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee. Weekends may be required.
