Assistant Program Director (Shelter Operations)

This is a leadership role overseeing case management and housing services within a shelter or supportive housing setting. You’ll supervise staff, manage daily operations, and handle escalations while ensuring compliance with city and state regulations. Ideal for someone with shelter or supportive housing experience who can lead teams, manage crises, and grow into a Program Director role. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of case management and housing services Supervise Case Manager Supervisors and support staff performance Monitor service delivery, productivity, and program outcomes Ensure compliance with DHS, OTDA, HPD, HRA, and related regulations Lead crisis management and respond to critical incidents Support program development, policies, and operational improvements Review reports, audits, and documentation for accuracy and compliance Analyze program data and implement performance improvements Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and coverage Serve as acting lead in absence of Program Director Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required (any field) 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience 3+ years of experience working with vulnerable populations Experience in shelter, supportive housing, or related settings preferred Strong crisis management and problem-solving skills Knowledge of NYC shelter systems and regulations preferred Clear path to Program Director advancement Growing organization with internal promotion opportunities Stable leadership structure and support Full benefits package provided Schedule & Travel Travel required bi-monthly for leadership and DHS meetings (East Harlem, Lower Manhattan) Monthly travel for supervision meetings in the Bronx Travel is limited and not required daily Pay Rates

• 42.50- $45 (Less than 2 years of leadership experience)
• 48- $52(2+ years of leadership experience & 3+ years of exp with the vulnerable population)
