Accounting System Analyst

Our client is seeking an Accounting System Analyst to join their team full-time. The Accounting System Analyst will manage back-office operations with a primary focus on indirect tax compliance and process improvement within the department. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $85,000 to $110,000 per year.

• Prepare and review monthly state sales & use tax and excise tax returns.
  
  
• Conduct monthly and yearly analyses and reconciliations of tax accounts.
  
  
• Organize and maintain essential tax documents and records.
  
  
• Compile status updates and periodic briefings for the management team.
  
  
• Manage the application, renewal, and upkeep of registrations, certifications, and licenses across state and local tax jurisdictions.
  
  
• Conduct regular internal audits to verify consistency, accuracy, and overall tax compliance.
  
  
• Review and enhance existing Excel workbooks used in the accounting and tax departments.
  
  
• Prepare for and assist in tax audits, collaborating with external auditors, the internal tax team, and business units.
  
  
• Facilitate tax audits and liaise with state and local government agencies, preparing necessary data.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  
  
• 1 - 2 years of experience in accounting or sales and use tax.
