Must-Have:

• Must be comfortable working with patient ratios of 1:6/7.
• Ability to titrate heparin drips based on APTT results.
• Experience working with common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, R/O, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, pneumonia, urosepsis, AKI.

Description:

The unit operates with a total of 30 beds. Nurse-to-patient ratios will be approximately 1:6/7, but may increase to 1:7. One charge RN will be present on the floor with an assignment. Patient Care Technicians will be available on the unit to assist. The unit has telemonitoring capabilities, which will be overseen remotely by monitoring technicians. There is no requirement for ventilation support equipment; however, intermittent BIPAP may be utilized. Shifts will be scheduled with an expectation of maintaining adequate coverage for weekends and holidays. Nurse floating is based on census, with external travelers prioritized for floating. Scrub color for RNs is navy blue. The charting system utilized is EPIC.
