Make a meaningful impact as a special education teacher dedicated to supporting students with intensive needs in a small, focused classroom environment. This full-time contract opportunity, beginning as soon as possible and running through June 2027, is ideal for passionate educators who thrive in elementary settings with individualized attention. Working with a 5th and 6th grade caseload, you’ll be part of a supportive school community serving just three students in the life skills/intensive needs program.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience teaching students with significant needs, preferably at the upper elementary or middle school level
• Proven ability to create and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong background in both academic and life-skills instruction for students with intensive support requirements
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, support staff, and related service providers
• Organizational skills for effective case management and documentation
• Commitment to inclusive and student-centered practices

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as lead teacher and case manager for a small group of 5th/6th graders in a life skills/intensive needs program
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to student goals
• Adapt instruction and materials to accommodate a range of learning abilities
• Provide direct instruction in academic, daily living, and social skills
• Collect data to track student progress and inform ongoing instruction
• Work closely with related service staff, paraprofessionals, and families to coordinate comprehensive support
• Maintain compliance with district and state special education regulations
