The student you’ll support exhibits behaviors that can include volatility, such as hitting and kicking. Professionals with a solid background in behavior management will thrive in this environment. While there is a preference for male paraprofessionals, individuals of any background who feel confident managing challenging behaviors are encouraged to apply. Success in this role comes from building trust, staying calm under pressure, and being proactive and perceptive as the student’s patterns and triggers continue to emerge.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience supporting individuals exhibiting significant behavioral challenges, especially in educational settings
• Strong understanding of de-escalation techniques and proactive behavior strategies
• Ability to remain composed during incidents of aggression or volatility
• Comfort with documenting behaviors and collaborating closely with classroom teachers and specialists
• Flexibility, empathy, and adaptability as the student’s needs change throughout the year
• Reliable availability to work 30–32.5 hours per week, in alignment with the school schedule

• Provide direct, one-on-one assistance to a 4th grade student throughout the school day
• Implement behavior plans, provide redirection, and help the student access learning
• Communicate observations and concerns to the education team
