THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an efficient Histotechnician to section FFPE tissue blocks. Our laboratory is quickly expanding and histology is a critical part of our data generation process. This role will work closely with additional histology team members to accelerate our processing pace.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a contract Histotechnician role with the potential for conversion to a full time position in the future. The schedule is flexible between 20-40 hours per week on site in South San Francisco; at least some hours must fall between 9am-4pm weekdays to allow for close coordination with the team. Success in this role will require a determination to operate efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards. Responsibilities include: Sectioning FFPE blocks and mounting tissue on slides Reembedding FFPE tissues in paraffin Additional histology responsibilities, which may include routine staining, biosample storage, and general maintenance of the area Collaborating with team members to enable efficient histology operations to support data generation and analysis at scale

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

3 years of hands-on histology experience Experience within complex, fast-paced environments a plus
