Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), your role will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Conducting assessments and devising personalized treatment plans for clients and their families.
• Providing therapy sessions for couples in a supportive environment, along with individual therapy for each partner as necessary.
• Facilitating therapy sessions that may cover a range of issues including but not limited to:
  • Alcohol abuse and its impact on family dynamics.
  • Addressing physical and psychological abuse within familial relationships.
  • Helping clients process grief and loss.
  • Resolving conflicts among family members, including siblings.
  • Assisting with communication difficulties and relationship tensions.
• Monitoring and documenting progress through electronic health records, using telemedicine tools when appropriate.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to integrate mental health services with overall healthcare provision.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a varied client population, including adults, children, and adolescents. You will address challenges faced by families including blended family adjustments, separations, and the emotional dynamics of remarriage. By engaging with clients across different age groups and backgrounds, you will gain valuable insights into diverse family systems and contribute positively to their mental health journeys.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:

• A current and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
• Strong commitment to clinical excellence and patient focus.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, preferred experience includes:

• Experience working with couples and families in a therapeutic setting.
• Proficiency with telehealth systems and electronic health records.
• Familiarity with family dynamics and interventions related to blended families.
• A background in trauma-informed care or similar therapeutic approaches.
