Human Resources Manager - Dealership

An established and growing authorized Bobcat dealer is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations and partner closely with business leadership across a dynamic, field-based workforce. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will own the full employee lifecycle—from hiring through offboarding—while ensuring compliance in a regulated, safety-focused environment. You’ll play a key role in shaping the employee experience, supporting frontline teams, and driving HR processes that enable the business to operate efficiently and effectively. What You’ll Do Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts, including workforce planning, job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance with background checks, DOT requirements, payroll setup, and documentation Manage payroll administration, including timekeeping review, PTO tracking, commissions, and garnishments Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective actions, and terminations Ensure compliance with federal, state (California), and local employment laws, including OSHA, DOT, and workers’ compensation requirements Administer employee benefits programs, including open enrollment, vendor coordination, and employee education Maintain accurate HR records, reporting, and documentation to support compliance and operational needs Partner cross-functionally with operations, accounting, and IT to support workforce needs (equipment, access, onboarding logistics) Support compensation planning, incentive programs, and workforce compliance initiatives Contribute to a safe, compliant, and engaging workplace environment Occasional travel and extended hours will be required based on business needs What You Bring 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a senior HR Generalist or HR Manager capacity Experience in a dealership, manufacturing, construction, or similar operational environment preferred Working knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance requirements Experience with HRIS/payroll systems Strong background in payroll, benefits administration, employee relations and California employment law. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and partner across all levels of the organization High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential matters Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment SHRM certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) preferred Equal Opportunity & Compliance Statement This employer is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
