Billing Supervisor - Monday to Friday, 7:30AM - 4:30PM Central

Pay range: $52,800+ per year

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for hiring, training, monitoring and termination of all direct reports.
• Ensure that team members are adequately trained to perform their job.
• Based on department needs, monitors one of the following: front end operations or functions, daily production tracking, and quality, reports and control activities to ensure that metrics are being met.
• Trains and cross-trains existing employees and new hires and completes other trainings throughout the year, along with assisting other departments.
• Work with IT to obtain new users IDs and supports employee provisioning of various applications
• Proactively identify QC issues for staff. Develop and implement action plans for improvement in conjunction with QA/QC and Group Leads.
• Develops recommendations for corrective actions based on production and quality issues.
• Assure appropriate employee production by providing contingency plans for vacations and absences.
• Communicates with superiors, peers, employees, internal and external customers, and others, as appropriate, on a regular basis, assuring proper flow of information.
• Assists in documenting standard operating procedures, job aids, meeting notes and business rules for the department.
• Assists in resolving problems relating to all areas of the business.
• Assists other departments as needed.
• Monitors all metrics for related functions, including Front End, phone queue, trailers, etc.
• Redirects staff as needed, based on backlogs and need for overtime.
• Responds to patient complaints and escalated issues to assure the appropriate action for resolution occurs.
• Provides input and guidance to staff members in order to ensure continuous improvement in processes and possible automation improvement projects.
• Facilitates individual and small group meetings.
• Maintains current knowledge of billing requirements and system practices.
• Directs team members on troubleshooting issues and encourages self-sufficiency in problem solving.
• Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for improvement.
• Responsible for recognition and motivating team.
• Prioritizes work for self and others, delegates work, employs time management techniques to ensure all team deliverables are met.
• Communicates news and updates to team on matters directly related to their functional billing group.
• Assists with scheduling and overtime for the team.
• Assists with preparing for month end to ensure that the team is meeting expected metrics.
• Monitors issues related to system performance issues affecting the team and takes action to seek resolution.
• Maintain all Compliance and HIPAA regulations at all times
• Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
• Coordinate with internal partners and insurance carriers to resolve billing challenges.

Qualifications:

Some additional qualifications:

• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is free from distractions and provides information privacy.
• Must live in a location that can receive Quest Diagnostics approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
• Ability to use remote meeting/learning applications including instant messaging and video conferencing.
• This position is primarily telecommute, however, you must be available to go into the office as needed for training, meetings, etc., depending on business needs.
• Occasionally may need to work weekends or later shift, depending on business needs.

Work Experience:

• 3+ years of medical billing, leadership, laboratory, third party payors and/or managing accounts receivables experience is preferred

Educational Experience:

• Bachelors Degree required, or equivalent preferred

Required Experience:

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft business applications;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (including excellent verbal and writing skills);
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills;
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines within standards;
• Adaptable and flexible with the ability to accept, create and manage change;
• Must have experience with managing multiple operational teams or functions
