Intake Attorney

California Bar Required | Fully Remote Anywhere in the U.S. | $120,000-$180,000 + Annual Bonus Not a screener working down a list. You will be the attorney our highest-value prospective clients are escalated to - and a key legal decision-maker in determining which cases the firm takes. WHY LABOR LAW PC Labor Law PC is a California plaintiff-side employment litigation firm founded in 2018. We built the firm around a simple idea: do serious, high-quality work for clients who genuinely need it, without unnecessary bureaucracy or institutional dysfunction. We are fully remote, have approximately 45 team members, and have built the systems and infrastructure to support thoughtful, selective case decisions. We are growing and adding an attorney dedicated to one of the most important decisions we make: which cases we take. THE ROLE This role is especially well suited to an experienced litigator who wants to stay close to substantive employment law and put years of litigation judgment to use, without carrying an active litigation caseload. You will evaluate promising employment matters, speak directly with prospective clients when legal questions require attorney involvement, and help determine whether a case meets the firm's standards. You will work closely with our Head of Intake, intake team, litigation attorneys, and managing partner. WHAT YOU'LL DO Serve as the attorney escalation point for high-value prospective clients Review case facts, records, and applicable law Conduct deeper legal research when needed Speak directly with prospective clients to clarify facts and answer legal questions Evaluate matters against documented case-selection criteria Identify strong individual, class, representative, and wage-and-hour claims Make and defend case-evaluation recommendations Coach intake specialists to better identify strong and weak leads Help refine case-selection standards based on legal developments and actual case outcomes WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR We hire for legal judgment, research ability, communication, and ownership. You should have: 5+ years of employment litigation experience Strong working knowledge of California wage-and-hour, wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation law Strong legal research and analytical skills Ability to make and clearly explain case-evaluation recommendations Confidence speaking directly with prospective clients, including during difficult or emotional conversations Strong judgment about when to make a decision independently and when to escape an edge case Plaintiff-side experience is preferred but not required. Experienced defense-side employment litigators interested in moving to plaintiff-side practice are encouraged to apply.
