Detailed Position Information
The Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama is seeking candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Finance and Real Estate in the Department of Economics, Finance, and Legal Studies beginning August 16, 2027. The candidate will contribute to the success of the Rance M. Sanders Real Estate Program. Primary duties will include engaging in a research program that results in articles in high-quality scholarly publications, teaching real estate and finance classes at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and performing service as assigned by the Department, College, and University.

About the Rance M. Sanders Real Estate Program

The Rance M. Sanders Real Estate Program, housed within the Department of Economics, Finance, and Legal Studies, is among the nation's largest and most dynamic real estate programs. The College offers comprehensive undergraduate and graduate real estate education through a major and minor in Real Estate and concentrations in Real Estate within the MBA and MSF programs, while the Department also offers master's and doctoral degrees in Economics and Finance. Faculty have opportunities to engage with the Alabama Center for Real Estate (ACRE), an outreach center that advances real estate education, research, and industry engagement throughout Alabama and beyond. Minimum Qualifications
(1) A doctoral degree specializing in finance, real estate, economics, or a closely related field; (2) demonstrated potential for publishing in top academic journals and a strong research pipeline given the applicant's career stage; and (3) teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Applicants are encouraged from a broad range of disciplines (e.g., finance, real estate, urban economics, urban planning, etc.). However, preference will be given to candidates with research and teaching interest in the fields of real estate and finance. Evidence of teaching excellence in real estate and/or finance is also preferred.
