PLANT MECHANIC

Installs, maintains, and repairs large complex equipment in hydroelectric pumping or generating plant and on aqueduct or dam facilities, at intake towers, stream release facilities or other water control components. The work involved includes, but is not limited to: pumps, turbines, spherical valves, butterfly valves, gates and gate valves, needle valves, piping systems, penstocks, gearboxes drive mechanisms, compressors, hydraulic power and pressure units, heating, ventilating and air conditioning components, and systems, trash racks, and internal combustion engines.

Candidate should also possess the ability to work effectively with others to promote a positive and safe work environment. Candidate should possess the knowledge, skills and experience as a journey person working as an industrial mechanic or millwright performing mechanical maintenance and repair work typically performed on hydroelectric pumps, generators, or steam plants. Experience maintaining motors, turbines, compressors, or pumps a must. Seeking individuals with experience in fabrication, pipe fitting, torches, plasma cutters, welding, and machining. Basic computer and tablet experience needed.


The field divisions are 100% office-centric, candidate must be willing to work in person, as this position is not eligible for telework.
