HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

This is a non-telework position located in Pearblossom, California.


Under the direction of the Mobile Equipment Superintendent I, the incumbent performs repairs and maintenance of automotive and construction equipment in the field division. Incumbent will inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot automotive and heavy maintenance and construction equipment to determine the cause of failure and the extent of necessary repairs.

Must have a valid California Class C driver's license as incumbent will be required to operate automotive vehicles on public roadways, travel to remote areas within the field division is necessary to perform the requirements of this position.

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:


We are seeking candidates with strong computer skills, communication skills, and the ability to work well with others. Must be dependable, have the ability to follow directions, and have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with maintenance of gas and diesel powered heavy mechanical equipment, troubleshooting electrical, air and hybrid brakes, drivetrain, A/C emission, electronic control system, and welding is preferred. Experience with engine management systems, engine diagnostic software, and fleet management software is also preferred. Preventative maintenance and B.I.T. inspection experience is ideal.
