Registered Nurse (RN)The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care across diverse patient populations in line with organizational standards, policies, and evidence-based practices. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered services. Collaboration with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary teams is crucial to promote optimal patient outcomes, safety, and positive patient experiences.ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.Implement and evaluate nursing interventions based on patient responses.Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and established protocols.Recognize changes in patient conditions, initiating appropriate interventions or escalations of care.Provide education and resources to patients and families regarding care and discharge instructions.Deliver culturally responsive, patient-centered care in high-acuity environments.Facilitate collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner within electronic health records.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety standards.Support and mentor staff, students, and peers through guidance and education.QualificationsAssociate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska.Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are required.Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification is preferred.Clinical competency required within three months and every three years thereafter.High-Risk Competency validation is required for direct patient care roles and must be assessed at specified intervals.Experience in emergency nursing or relevant specialty is an advantage.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong understanding of nursing principles, evidence-based practices, medication safety, and infection prevention.Excellent clinical judgment, organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in electronic health records and clinical systems.Physical & Work RequirementsAbility to lift, move, and assist patients up to 50 pounds.Capability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and kneeling.Ability to work in moderate-to-high noise clinical environments.Safety ResponsibilityEmployees are expected to comply with safe work practices, report injuries and unsafe conditions, and participate in safety investigations.
