Location 227 Thorn Ave, Orchard Park NY, THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION, YOU MUST COMMUTE TO ORCHARD PARK NY Summary of Position Function Spectrum Health and Human Services is seeking an experienced Network Administrator with strong security experience to support, secure, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across clinical, administrative, and remote office environments. This position is responsible for maintaining highly available wired and wireless networks, enforcing security controls, supporting regulated Spectrum Health and Human Services systems, and partnering with IT leadership on risk reduction, business continuity, and infrastructure modernization. Major Duties and Responsibilities Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot core network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, wireless platforms, and internet connectivity. Maintain secure and reliable connectivity for electronic health record systems, cloud services, VoIP/UC platforms, remote users, and site-to-site communications. Implement and support network security technologies such as VLAN segmentation, NAC, IDS/IPS, MFA-integrated remote access, secure DNS, web filtering, and endpoint-aware access controls. Conduct routine review of logs, alerts, and network events to identify suspicious activity, performance degradation, and configuration issues. Coordinate vulnerability remediation for network devices, firmware, firewalls, wireless controllers, and related infrastructure. Develop, maintain, and enforce standards for network configuration, change control, access management, backup, and disaster recovery. Support HIPAA‑aligned safeguards in accordance with HIPAA regulations by protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data traversing the network. Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems, help desk, compliance, and operational teams on incident response, audits, risk assessments, and project delivery. Maintain documentation for network diagrams, IP schemas, circuit inventories, failover paths, standard operating procedures, and support runbooks. Participate in after‑hours maintenance, patching windows, incident response, and on‑call support as needed. Skills / Competencies Technical Environment Enterprise switching and routing. Next‑generation firewalls and secure remote access. Wireless networking and controller‑based deployments. Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP. Monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery tools. Virtualized and hybrid infrastructure supporting Spectrum Health and Human Services applications. Core Competencies 3–5+ years of hands‑on network administration, engineering support, or infrastructure operations experience. 3–5+ years of experience with enterprise routing, switching, firewall policies, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure. 3–5+ years of working knowledge of network security, including segmentation, least privilege, secure remote access, log review, and threat detection. 3–5+ years of experience in Microsoft enterprise environments, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure or hybrid identity, and DNS/DHCP. 3–5+ years of familiarity with healthcare, regulated, or other compliance‑driven environments. 3–5+ years of strong troubleshooting skills across LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS, VLANs, and internet connectivity. Excellent documentation, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills. 5+ years in healthcare delivery, behavioral health, clinic, or multi‑site care environments. 5+ years with Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, or similar enterprise networking and security platforms. 5+ years of exposure to SIEM, vulnerability scanning, endpoint detection, and security audits. 5+ years supporting cloud networking, Microsoft Azure, SD‑WAN, zero trust, or infrastructure modernization initiatives. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent. Network reliability and performance optimization. Incident response support and root‑cause analysis. Documentation and procedural discipline. Risk awareness in regulated environments. Service orientation and clear communication. Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. Experience 3–5+ years of hands‑on network administration, engineering support, or infrastructure operations experience. 3–5+ years of experience with enterprise routing, switching, firewall policies, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure. 3–5+ years of working knowledge of network security, including segmentation, least privilege, secure remote access, log review, and threat detection. 3–5+ years of experience in Microsoft enterprise environments, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure or hybrid identity, and DNS/DHCP. 3–5+ years of familiarity with healthcare, regulated, or other compliance‑driven environments. 3–5+ years of strong troubleshooting skills across LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS, VLANs, and internet connectivity.
