Our team is growing. Optimum is hiring a full-time CONSTRUCTION MANAGER to help us continue this great work and serve as a key team member in our Project Management team in the Northern New Hampshire area.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Construction Manager will oversee the implementation of utility-scale photovoltaic installation projects across all project phases. This role reports to a designated Project Manager or other senior management personnel, as assigned by the President of the Company. This position may require travel, approximately 75% or as necessary for project demands.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supervising and taking responsibility for utility-scale photovoltaic installation projects at all stages of work.
• Creating and implementing construction planning schedules.
• Coordinating suppliers and construction companies on site.
• Managing and monitoring building site logistics.
• Assisting in the negotiating and awarding of contracts for parts of building work.
• Ensuring that building work (structural and civil engineering) is completed to schedule, within budget, and per code requirements.
• Managing and monitoring subcontractors.
• Handling all processes involving the building authorities up to the project handover.
• Carrying out all building acceptance procedures as well as establishing and following up work to be carried out under guarantee.
• Coordinating overall site safety management and compliance.
• Coordinating installation with 3rd party engineers.
• Collaborating with team members when necessary to ensure effective communication and results.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience managing renewable energy construction projects (solar, wind, storage) is preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or another related engineering science is preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience managing the construction of major projects, preferably in the building of power stations or supply networks, or other utility-scale construction projects.
• Willingness to travel.
• Excellent skills in MS Project or comparable project management tool, and possess strong technical aptitude.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Assertive, able to cope with pressure, a team player.
