Payroll Manager Location: Lafayette, LA Pay Rate: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year Schedule: 1st Shift Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred At least five years of payroll-management experience Multi-state payroll-processing experience Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements Experience with payroll platforms and ERP integrations CMiC experience preferred Certified Payroll Professional certification preferred Experience with payroll tax filings and reconciliations Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to make independent decisions and resolve complex payroll issues Strong communication and leadership abilities Commitment to process improvement and accurate reporting Job Duties Manage end-to-end multi-state payroll processing Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations Oversee payroll tax filings and compliance activities Process and monitor garnishments and benefits deductionsComplete payroll and tax reconciliations Reconcile payroll-related general-ledger accounts Support month-end closing activities Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies Respond to employee payroll inquiries Maintain and improve payroll systems and workflows Support and enhance ERP integrations Develop scalable payroll procedures Establish and maintain effective internal controls Partner with Human Resources, Accounting, and Operations Ensure payroll accuracy and timely internal reporting Provide payroll guidance, training, and process support to internal teams Identify opportunities to improve payroll efficiency and accuracy Benefits Competitive salary of $75,000-$95,000 per year Direct-hire employment First-shift schedule Payroll leadership and process-improvement opportunities Opportunity to expand multi-state payroll and ERP-integration expertise Comprehensive partner-company benefits provided upon hire Equal Opportunity Employer Staffmark is an equal opportunity employer.
