Lead Maintenance Mechanic

Lead MechanicWIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Lead Mechanic. The Lead Mechanic is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, cleaning, inspecting and maintenance of mechanical equipment throughout the facility in a safe and professional manner. They will indirectly lead and prioritize Mechanical Maintenance daily activities working with the on-shift Operations Supervisor(s) and ensure Mechanics have necessary tooling and materials to complete Work Orders effectively. They will report all Mechanical Maintenance activities to direct Supervisor and facility management team effectively and in a timely manner.Responsibilities:Reviews and performs immediate oversight, ensuring work-orders and requisitions and documents all critical and or pertinent information on a routine basisIndividual must demonstrate proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software (Tabware)Available to work scheduled and unscheduled overtimeRespond and report to work during off hours when emergency repairs are required and ability to be on callTroubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, diagnose problems, and make necessary repairsOperate mobile equipment including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid steer type loaders, and other mobile equipmentPerforms preventive and repair maintenance procedures safely, environmentally compliant, and professionally with minimal supervision in accordance with Federal and State Regulations, and Company Work Rules, Policies and ProceduresIdentify and repair potential safety hazardsAbility to don all necessary PPE and safely work at heights, confined spaces, and other precarious placesAbility to communicate effectively via radio using three-part communicationActively participate and support operations functions as necessary, including but not limited to internal equipment inspections, fire watch, cleaning of work area(s), etc.Use various Machine shop equipment such as a bandsaw, drill press, Bridgeport, stationary grinder, parts washer, etc.Proficient knowledge, skills and abilities required to properly identify and safely and effectively use and maintain hand tools and portable power tools on a routine basis while performing maintenance tasksTravels to other facilities with-in the Company when technical support is requiredTakes proactive measures to address improvement opportunitiesAssists in training other employeesDirects those assigned to assist in the safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient completion of maintenance tasksAssumes increased levels of responsibility when required or requested. Performs lesser skilled duties when required or requestedComplete the Corporate and Plant Training Programs within the time frame prescribedIdentifies and effectively uses basic and precision measuring tools to calculate and determine lengths, surface areas, and volumes as necessary while performing maintenance tasks on a routine basisFollows standard safety and environmental procedures, correct safety, and environmental hazards, and report them to the Shift Supervisor immediately. Reads, understands, and applies information such as lockout/tagout procedures, safety and environmental rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsMaintains and follows all Company environmental compliance, health and safety requirements, policies, procedures, and rules withinCompletes all required Environmental Management System and Compliance TrainingWorks rotating shifts, if requestedCommunicates clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; as well as communicate clearly whether using in-situ intercom system, two-way radio, or face to faceAnticipates typical problems, identify potential or recurring problems, and takes appropriate action. Troubleshoots equipment, diagnoses problems and repairsProvide necessary expertise on equipment repairs and reference O&M Manuals to support the Mechanical Maintenance shop with specific work ordersFacility Subject Matter Expert (SME) with operating equipment in a Waste-to-Energy facility or similar industry including but not limited to, chain & flight conveyors, belt conveyors, hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, overhead cranes, and various style pumpsProficient in welding practices and facility Subject Matter Expert (SME), including but not limited to; SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, Brazing and Soldering processesProficient in operational knowledge of facility equipment and systemsPreferred Requirements:High School diploma (GED)Tech Schooling ExperienceMinimum of 8 years' experience in the Industrial or Power Industry Maintenance Field, or a minimum of 2 years' experience as a 1st class MechanicProficient with Microsoft Software; Excel, Word, Office, etc.Ability to read and record measurements with precisionProficient in welding, soldering, brazing, pipe fittingMaintain positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.Certificates and Licenses:Licenses as required by Local, State, Federal, Environmental and/or Health/Safety Regulatory agencies.Physical Requirements:Handle tools, equipment, fine motor skillsReach with hands and armsClimb and walk on heights often greater than 4 feetOccasionally must be able to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbsWhat You'll Enjoy:Industry leading benefitsMultiple and flexible medical plansOutstanding PTO programFloating HolidaysStrong 401k program and company matchTuition reimbursement planCollege loan reimbursementCollege scholarship program for dependentsParental Leave ProgramInclusive cultureEmployee engagement eventsEmployee resource groupsWIN Waste Innovations is a waste management company committed to delivering essential waste management solutions to customers and communities supported by our team of 2,300 employees.
