Job Overview Oliver Wyman is seeking a Talent Manager to manage a population of early‑tenured consultants (between 0-4 years of experience). This role is responsible for scheduling, performance management, and personal engagement with consultants to understand their strengths, development objectives, preferences, and career goals. The Manager will collaborate with Partners and other Talent Managers to assemble consulting teams and resolve any issues. The successful candidate will balance business needs with the preferences, career goals, and development needs of consultants to deliver appropriate staffing and talent management outcomes. Key Responsibilities Talent Management Engage in the performance management process, analyzing project reviews, challenging reviews when necessary, and participating in sensitive dialogue regarding performance. Develop a trusted relationship with the consultant group to provide career guidance, understand staffing preferences, and evaluate project performance. Ensure consultants understand developmental needs and guide professional growth. Liaise with Employee Relations when difficult situations arise. Monitor work‑life balance and act when appropriate. Take pulse of overall morale and coordinate events for the broader North American consultant population. Project Staffing Collect project details and understand context to communicate effectively with the consultant group. Collaborate with other CCG Talent Managers to find best‑fit consultants for projects while balancing individual needs. Communicate with consultants about staffing opportunities. Explain staffing decisions to consultants, ensuring they understand the rationale. Consultant Development and Training Engage with consultants on development needs and suggest courses of action for professional development. Ensure performance objectives are acted upon through projects, training, and supplemental learning. Monitor progression against development objectives and provide support. Review individual skill development, project timing, and training schedules. Oliver Wyman Development Work on strategic initiatives with the Human Capital team and other leaders to improve the employee experience (retention, benefits, flexible working, etc.). Organize and drive special projects to improve the talent management function and address critical business issues. Lead initiatives within the CCG related to community building. Act as a strong firm citizen embodying Oliver Wyman values day‑to‑day. Experience Required Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant professional experience in a fast‑paced client services environment. Management consulting and/or progressive Human Resources experience preferred. Experience balancing ever‑changing work demands in a challenging environment with many stakeholders. Skills and Attributes Ability to establish and grow relationships at all levels. Professional, credible, and capable of effective communication and negotiation across diverse personalities and cultures. Excellent written and verbal communication tailored to the audience. Self‑motivated, proactive, ownership mindset, and flexible in prioritizing tasks. Comfortable working with data (Excel, PowerPoint, ERP software). Creative, strategic thinker seeking process improvement. Genuine interest in the development and career success of consultants. Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple projects. Can work independently or in a team within a fast‑paced environment. Compensation and Benefits The applicable base salary range for this role is $85,000 to $115,000, determined by experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. In addition to base salary, the position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
