Duties and responsibilities

• Perform welding duties using wire welding GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), or GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), according to blueprints.
• Adjust weld parameter as needed to accommodate varying thicknesses of steel and stainless steel
• Operate and/or use related equipment and tools, which include forklifts, hoists, grinders (portable & bench), cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, a tape measure, and welding equipment.
• Accurately measure and lay out locations for welded components
• Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following the daily start-up & basic maintenance list, and informing the lead/supervisor of any issues/malfunctions.
• Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, work instructions, and procedures.

 

Job application requirements

• Welders/Fabricators must be able to read and interpret blueprints and other engineering documents.
• Knowledge of the metric system
• Commitment to work from June to September with low absenteeism
• Work in a small team
• Must complete in-house welding test (using your own helmet and welding gloves)
• Fabricating experience with heavy machinery is preferred
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs., but most work areas have overhead crane access
• Maintain level of work performance in accordance with company standards and/or job order specifications.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

 

Reports to the Production Supervisor

 

Consent to 5-year background check and 5-panel pre-employment drug screening. Results must be clear before reporting for the first day of employment, along with a signed acknowledgement of the Putsch® Confidentiality Agreement and Drug & Alcohol Testing Policy.
