Accounting Manager

Base pay range $105,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr Accounting Manager INSPYR Solutions is partnered with a growing company in Sugar Land that is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its corporate accounting leadership team. This role will oversee critical close and reporting activities, manage a team of accounting professionals, and play a key role in strengthening processes, controls, and technical accounting practices. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee the monthly close process, including review and approval of journal entries and reconciliations Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members, including goal‑setting and performance management Coordinate internal and external financial reporting, including management reporting and financial statement preparation Ensure accounting records and practices comply with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements Maintain and enhance internal controls to support accurate and reliable financial data Conduct technical accounting research and provide guidance on new or evolving accounting standards Partner cross‑functionally with finance, IT, treasury, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment Support budgeting and forecasting activities Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to accounting operations and the close process Own and oversee the account reconciliation framework Assist with audit activities, including interim and annual audits Participate in due diligence and accounting support for mergers and acquisitions, including purchase accounting Support regulatory‑related financial filings and special reporting requirements Lead documentation and ongoing maintenance of accounting policies and procedures Take on special projects and ad hoc initiatives as requested by senior leadership Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required Master’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred Experience 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP Experience in complex, multi‑entity or regulated environments strongly preferred Prior people management or team leadership experience desired Background in public accounting is a plus Technical Skills Experience with large ERP systems (SAP preferred) Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools Certifications CPA license required Seniority level Mid‑Senior level Employment type Full‑time Job function Accounting/Auditing Industries Utilities, Air, Water, and Waste Program Management, and Oil and Gas Benefits Medical insurance Vision insurance 401(k) #J-18808-Ljbffr
