Our goal is to double in size in the next 5 years! We are seeking ambitious PE licensed Pavement Project Managers out of our Farmington Hills, Michigan office to join our team! Additionally, we are seeking someone who aspires a leadership role for the Pavement division!Responsible for managing Pavement restoration projects from evaluation and pre-design through post-construction, including coordination and leadership of the project team in developing required documents.Reports To: Regional ManagerResponsibilities:Assist the Marketing and Sales teams in proposal development, including project team, scope, schedule, contracts, and interviews.Plan, execute, and monitor project scope and manpower requirements/fees, including review of job status reports.Primary contact with Client—coordinate information and communications between Owner and team, review scope changes, make design presentations, review/approve Contractor invoices, and work with responsible director for fee billings.Coordinate project team, team meetings, information between departments, and workloads with departments.Coordinate outside consultants with Owner and Project Team, including consultant selection and communications.Oversee/manage contractors/subcontractors work to ensure specifications are followed properly.If registered/certified, responsible for sealing/documentation of project and team.Maintain and coordinate project files.Complete assignments efficiently in a timely and complete manner as required by the project and/or supervisor.Continuing education to improve technical knowledge/skills through outside and in-house programs, seminars, training sessions, site visits, trade periodicals, and other resources.Perform miscellaneous corporate projects, as assigned.Must have a thorough understanding of the following techniques and procedures:Evaluation Phase:Client interviewMaterial testingEvaluation formatsPhoto (camera) conditionsCCR (Construction, Condition, and Recommendations) evaluations reportStructureTec evaluation rating system (RCI)Evaluation presentationsEstablish project budgets.Organize technicians for evaluation/work schedules.Design/Development:Pavement designs/material selectionClient interactionDetail designEstablish pavement budgets.Construction Documents:Coordinate information for specification for technician's field work.Develop specification documents (oversee development process).Develop project manual.Bidding:Selection of contractor base.Distribution of bidding documents/attend pre-bid conference.Coordinate addendum documents.Review bids with Client/tabulate bids.Determine qualified bidder (confer with Principal and Client and provide recommendations.Assist with Owner/Contractor contracts.Construction Review and Administration/Support Field Operations:Site construction visits and progress reportsMonitor time on project or budget.Determine construction review budgets for Client and StructureTec phase management.Write field reports and progress reports for all visits and meetings (expertly/technically)Client contact interaction/reviewPreconstruction meetings, progress meetings (attendance and coordination)Shop drawing review and distribution.Coordinate change order documents with projects and Divisional Manager.Responsible for technicians' conduct, experience, and performance while on site; reviews (training).Review/approval of pay requests.Punch list developmentClose-out documentation and administrationClient performance evaluation and post construction reviewMaintenance Program:Establish maintenance programs with Clients (project manual).Monitor maintenance repairs and projects with technicians (schedules).Preferred Qualifications:Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related post high school training preferred.Professional Engineer or Project Management Professional certification required.Non-degreed persons must have six to ten years prior industry project management experience with a minimum of eight years industry experience.Good communication skills to effectively work with clients from beginning design to post construction.Knowledge of project management process as it relates to the business.Knowledge in construction, such as industry standards, material products, mix specifications, DOT Specs, codes, contracts, bidding processes, etc.Knowledge in Q.C. / Q.A. standards of StructureTec.Knowledge and experience in field inspection.Skills to write technical reports and letters.Desire to pursue continuing education and certification programs through CSI/NCEES and other industry related organizations.Must be able to contribute to a team-oriented environment.Must have some AutoCAD/CAD background.
