RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirements vary based on unit needs
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with downgrades to medical patients at 1:5 and PCU at 1:4
• Float to PCU and medical floors as needed
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score or face contract termination
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First week system orientation and onboarding, followed by 1-2 12-hour shifts of unit orientation
• Care for patients with common diagnoses including COPD, pneumonia, CVA, TIA, DKA, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, and neuro conditions
• Required to titrate drips including vasopressors, insulin, TNK, heparin, IV antibiotics, and sedatives
• Must read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Work with respiratory equipment including vents and BiPAPs
• Chart in EPIC system
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• Driver's license required at submittal for radius verification
• RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract)

This healthcare organization operates a Level 2 trauma center with a comprehensive ICU featuring 24/7 critical care coverage and E-ICU staffed with nurses and APRNs around the clock. The facility provides acute care services with modern equipment and technology, including respiratory therapy support and advanced monitoring capabilities. The ICU maintains appropriate staffing ratios with charge nurses on each shift and patient care technicians to support nursing staff.
