Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in-office initially with increased remote flexibility after onboarding period) Practice Area: Employment Litigation / Employment Defense Overview A well-established California litigation firm is seeking an Employment Defense Attorney to join its growing Employment practice in San Diego . This opportunity is ideal for attorneys looking for greater ownership of matters, increased autonomy, and meaningful client exposure within a collaborative, high-performing environment. The team is hiring multiple attorneys with 3–10 years of experience handling employment litigation matters. Key Responsibilities Manage employment defense matters through all stages of litigation Handle discovery, depositions, motions, and court appearances Defend employers in employment-related disputes and litigation matters Work directly with clients and develop case strategy Collaborate with partners while maintaining significant ownership of cases Preferred Experience 3–10 years of litigation experience with a focus on employment law Experience with PAGA , class action , and/or school district matters is highly valued Plaintiff-side employment attorneys may be considered if they have meaningful prior defense-side experience and are seeking to transition back into defense work Candidates from small to mid-sized firms seeking greater autonomy are especially encouraged to apply Hybrid schedule with increased remote flexibility over time Entrepreneurial and collaborative culture Strong opportunity for litigation ownership and long-term growth Salary and Other Compensation The annual salary for this position is between $165,000 – $235,000 . Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
