Part-Time Limited Term Assignment

This is a part-time limited term assignment. Hours per day: up to 8 hours maximum. Hours per week: 29 maximum. Proposed work hours: flexible (between 8am to 5pm). Proposed workdays: flexible (between Monday thru Friday). Starting salary: depends on qualifications. Our Water Resources team operates in a dynamic environment where priorities evolve and collaboration is essential. No two days look exactly the same. In this role, you may be analyzing water supply data, coordinating with retail and partner agencies, supporting strategic priorities, preparing materials for leadership, or helping track and administer grant-funded projects. The position works across teams and with regional partners to advance initiatives that strengthen long-term water supply reliability for the communities we serve.

Examples of Duties

• Assist with collecting and updating water resources data including but not limited to imported water deliveries, precipitation, surface water diversions, groundwater elevations, and regional water use.
• Support water resources projects, programs, studies, and reports.
• Support grant seeking, tracking, reporting and applications.
• Assist well owners/customers via email and phone seeking well data via a web-based customer portal. Respond to frequent public requests for regional well data housed in Western Water's database.
• General project support, including coordination with external stakeholders, research, data collection and verification, report preparation, and delivery of key findings and results.
• Other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Education and experience required:

• Associate degree or equivalent in completed college units.
• Knowledge of modern office equipment.
• Knowledge and ability to demonstrate experience using the following computer programs:
• Adobe Acrobat
• Word
• Excel
• Outlook
• PowerPoint
• Minimum one (1) year of administrative or customer service-related experience preferably with a public agency performing similar services as outlined in the examples of duties within this job announcement.
• Knowledge of public agency services, processes and procedures is preferred.
• Excellent client service abilities are essential.

The ability to explain, interpret, and apply related rules, regulations, policies and procedures; and work on multiple concurrent assignments, often within tight timeframes using good business judgment is necessary.

Environmental: Employees primarily work in a temperature-controlled office environment subject to typical office noise and settings. Incumbents are expected to use principles of effective safety practices including the use of equipment in a proper and safe manner, use of preventative personal ergonomic techniques, and maintaining safe personal and common workspaces.
