Education/Certification:

• Preferred: High School graduate or equivalent

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Required: Good communicating and reasoning skills.

Experience Required:

• Knowledge of custodial work or other related areas.
• Knowledge of minor repairs, electrical, plumbing, carpentry.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrate a willingness to work overtime if necessary to ensure that extra-curricular and school rental requirements are satisfied and in the event emergency situations arise.
• Ability to communicate with the Principal and school staff so the necessary support requirements for educational programs may be provided.
• Ability and willingness to work any shift.
• Ability to report to different location each work day.

Function


Under the general coordination of the Custodial Foreman/Area Supervisor. The Floating Custodian is responsible for maintaining the classrooms and other areas allocated to him/her to the Districts cleanliness standards using prescribed procedures.

Reports To:


Reports directly to the Custodial Foreman/Area Supervisor

Reponsibilities:

• Report to the Head Custodian/Day lead Custodian for instruction.
• Perform cleaning duties.
• Carryout scheduled housekeeping duties as required.
• Assist in preparing for school rentals, dances and other school activities.
• Replace the Head Custodian/Day Lead Custodian during his/her absence.
• Make minor repairs to equipment as required.
• Check all classrooms to ensure that they are secure and windows are closed.
• Ensure that all doors are secure before leaving.
• Perform other duties as required for the daily operation of the school.

• Lifting (heavy, 45 lbs. or over), carrying (heavy, 45 lbs, or over), stooping, walking, climbing (stairs, adders, scaffold, ramps), balancing, crouching, kneeling, pulling, crawling, working in confined areas, pushing, reaching, repetitive hand motions, visual acuity, driving (car, truck, bus) Outside temperature extremes, noises, vibrating, slippery surfaces, sunlight, works around moving objects, kneeling, chemical exposure (asbestos, fumes, vapors, gases, dusts, smoke, etc.)

Salary : AUXS/602: $13.00 minimum/hour (individual salary calculation is based on applicable experience)
