Job Summary:

Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) for the ER Lab at an acute care facility, providing weekday weekend coverage in Syracuse. The role involves performing point-of-care testing, clerical duties, and supporting FSED operations with a focus on accuracy and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Conduct point-of-care testing to ensure rapid and accurate results.
  
  
• 
  Perform clinical laboratory tests following established protocols and quality standards.
  
  
• 
  Assist with clerical tasks as directed by nursing and lab management to support operational efficiency.
  
  
• 
  Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and quality assurance policies.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth laboratory operations and patient care.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to regulatory requirements and complete documentation accurately.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Must hold an ASCP certification as MLS, CLS, or Medical Technologist.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in point-of-care testing procedures.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least 2 years of clinical lab experience.
  
  
• 
  Be willing to perform clerical duties and support FSED operations.
  
  
• 
  Hold current certifications and comply with healthcare safety standards.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate flexibility to work on weekends and variable shifts.
