Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

• Schedule: 3x12

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and pain management interventions as prescribed
• Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart tracings and uterine activity
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families throughout the childbirth process
• Assist with newborn stabilization and immediate postpartum care
• Respond effectively to obstetrical emergencies and changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians, neonatal teams, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards
• Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care guidelines

Requirements

• Active RN License in California
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Current BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification required
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills
• Experience with high-risk pregnancies, labor management, and postpartum care preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered maternal care
