Systems Test Technician I (Temporary - 6 Month Contract)

Job Overview This position is a Systems Test Technician headquartered in San Diego, California. The role focuses on design, execution, and analysis of system‑level testing for medical device hardware and software, and involves developing test protocols, managing test equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and company policies. Responsibilities Support engineering activities by designing and executing system‑level testing. Develop protocols, test methods, and test equipment required to verify system performance. Perform and analyze experiments, integrating work of self and others to complete assignments. Execute test methods and protocols for system‑level testing of medical device hardware and software. Organize and present own data. Perform all assignments in accordance with established safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. Assist in the construction, test, and check‑out of test equipment. Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment, and assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Record and compile data for documentation of test procedures. Review data for compliance to specifications and report abnormalities. Maintain department documentation, inventory of test materials, calibration, and preventive maintenance records. Calibrate and maintain lab equipment. Confirm completion of required training plan before assuming job responsibilities. Ensure work is performed in compliance with company policies including Privacy/HIPAA and other regulatory, legal, and safety requirements. Other duties as assigned. Schedule & Location Onsite position in San Diego, California. Work Monday‑Friday from 6:00AM–2:30PM PST. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s or AA technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience performing testing in an engineering or laboratory environment. Knowledge of statistical data analysis (preferred). Ability to read and follow procedures and flow diagrams. Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to share information regarding issues and make recommendations clearly and concisely. Skilled at promoting team cooperation and a commitment to team success. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple priorities, completing assignments on time with minimal errors. Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Compensation Starting hourly base pay range: $23.00–$25.00. Pay varies with job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions. This is a temporary position, so benefits may be provided by a staffing agency. Eligible for Tandem‑sponsored benefits if converted to regular full‑time status.
