About the Position

Job Title: RN II-Float Pool -Critical Care Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Float Pool - Critical Care Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: Guaranteed Hours: Experience: One year ICU or Step-Down/Progressive Care, High Risk Labor and Delivery or ER experience in the last 5 years License: Current RN license in state of practice Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 60 days of hire or transfer, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or enrolled in upcoming TNCC class Must-Have: Current Epic experience Description: Responsible for the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients in various critical care settings. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel in accordance with their scope of practice. Demonstrates competency in all routine nursing skills including medication administration and intravenous therapy. Maintains care and management of indwelling catheters and drains. Utilizes medical equipment safely in the critical care environment. Understands and follows the established chain of command. Accurately interprets ECG rhythm and manages care during life-threatening emergencies. Demonstrates knowledge of lead functions and application for monitoring based on patient presentation. Exhibits skills in caring for patients post coronary interventions and permanent pacemaker placements. Integrates clinical data with assessment for managing cardiac step-down/telemetry patients. Initiates a multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plan for each patient in collaboration with the healthcare team. Documents education provided to patients and families using appropriate teaching methods. Evaluates the effectiveness of care performed. Completes accurate and timely documentation of all nursing care provided. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improving care and unit operations. Is open to change and new problem-solving approaches. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
