Description: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following and other duties may be assigned: * Responsible for set up and operations as required by drawings to meet acceptable quality and productivity standards by either electric arc or automatic wire feed process * Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc or gas welding equipment. * Demonstrate soundness of weld joints while maintaining proper weld dimensions, heat and depth of weld to parts * Shall be subject to radiography, dye penetrant inspection or bend tests * Responsible for reading blue prints, handling materials and tools such as; tape measures, plasma cutter, cutting torches drill, bolts, clamps, etc. * Inspects parts or completed units by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment. * Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts. * Performs a variety of assembly or production duties with minimal supervision. * Responsible to see that all company supplied tools used are placed into proper storage cabinets daily. * Assist quality in testing and other efforts as required * Conduct rope winding as necessary * Assist and maintains acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping * Performs all other assigned duties as instructed by supervision. Additional Qualification: Sherman & Reilly Weld Certification and AWS Specification D1.1. 94 and D1.3 89 Education: High school diploma or general education degree 6 months' experience in manufacturing environment Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Perform basic mathematical calculations at a high school level. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving root cause and corrective action analysis.
