What You Will Do As Manager of the Operational Accounting Department, you will oversee the day‑to‑day operations, ensuring that general ledger account reconciliations are balanced and reviewed in a timely manner to clear outstanding items and that findings are communicated to relevant stakeholders for resolution. Key responsibilities include prioritizing staff development through regular meetings, training, and cross‑training opportunities to promote employee satisfaction and growth, providing performance feedback, coordinating adequate department coverage when short‑staffed or during peak periods, and reviewing and analyzing departmental procedures to meet deadlines. You will identify areas for improvement to optimize efficiency and productivity within the department, develop and implement performance goals, mentor staff members through coaching and guidance, approve leave requests and timesheets, create schedules for daily and end‑of‑month posting, and oversee the hiring of new personnel. You will participate in the implementation of new projects and initiatives by attending meetings, participating in testing, and developing procedures to support the launch of new initiatives. Additionally, you will establish new accounts with third‑party vendors, coordinate delivery of equipment and supplies, and ensure that the Operational Accounting staff adhere to established policies, guidelines, and procedures as outlined by management. As Manager, you will maintain effective internal controls that are comprehensive and reliable, assist with opening and closing of general ledgers, and establish new cost centers, completing any other job‑related duties needed to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization’s Value. What We Require Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent education and/or experience. Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience in a financial institution. Good verbal and written communication skills conducive to training, counseling and mentoring employees, and confidently handling member issues. Independent thinking, self‑motivation, and problem‑solving ability to manage multiple priorities set by Management. Ideal Candidate Will Have Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), including advanced MS Excel skills. Able to convey clear, concise information in verbal, written, electronic, and other communication formats, demonstrating active listening while engaging others.
