Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Ortho RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring WA or compact RN license and 2+ years of experience.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg-Telemetry Ortho unit with 34 beds and 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Patient population includes total joints, cardiac rule out, pneumonia, psych, and general surgery post-op cases
• Utilizes EPIC EMR
• Night shift schedule with every other weekend required
• Titratable drips include heparin (weight-based) and rare use of nitro, insulin, low-dose dopamine and dobutamine
• Telemetry/monitor techs available on unit and RNs are required to read strips
• Charge nurse and house supervisor support available on all shifts
• Nurse aide coverage at 1:8 ratio, max 1:12
• Respiratory equipment used includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• No call or standby requirements
• Primary to one facility with floating required throughout the region to support Med Tele, PCU, ICU or ER holding as needed

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required
• BSN not required for this position
• Experience with EPIC preferred; may test out of EPIC training if experienced
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to orthopedic and general Med/Surg patients on a telemetry unit
• Initiate and manage titratable IV drips including heparin
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and monitor techs for patient care coordination
• Unit orientation includes meeting with a unit educator and one full shift of orientation
• Professional scrubs of any color are acceptable
