Snowflake Data Engineer
We are seeking a Snowflake Data Engineer with a background in healthcare data to design and implement data solutions.
Requirement/Must Have:
- Strong experience in Snowflake (Medallion Architecture).
- Expertise in SQL Server (Schema, SPs, Jobs, Performance tuning).
- Knowledge of HL7 data structures and healthcare workflows.
- Experience in ETL/ELT tools (ADF, Airflow, etc.).
- Data modeling (Dimensional / Star Schema).
- Handling semi-structured data (JSON/VARIANT).
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement Snowflake-based data platform using Medallion Architecture.
- Gather requirements and analyze existing HL7 to SQL Server ETL workflows.
- Design Bronze, Silver, Gold layers in Snowflake.
- Build data ingestion pipelines for HL7 messages (ADT, ORM, ORU).
- Parse and map HL7 data into structured relational models.
- Perform data transformation, cleansing, and normalization.
- Reverse engineer SQL Server databases (tables, SPs, jobs, dependencies).
- Migrate ETL and batch jobs to Snowflake (Tasks/Streams/ADF/Airflow).
- Develop data models (fact and dimension tables) for analytics.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance.
- Implement scheduling, monitoring, and performance optimization.
Nice to Have:
- DICOM data exposure.
- Real-time streaming (Kafka/Event Hub).
- Healthcare domain experience.
- Data governance and security (HIPAA awareness).
