We're seeking an enthusiastic Banquet Server who is passionate about hospitality and eager to create memorable experiences for our banquet guests. Apply today!Essential FunctionsAssist with the set-up of tables, linens, chairs, etc. for banquet events.Greet guests in a timely and friendly manner.Answer questions about food, beverages and other restaurant/resort functions and services.Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in the point-of-sale system.Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.Pre-bus tables between each course.Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service while responding promptly and courteously to any requests.If applicable, prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, and process through the POS system, thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.Clean banquet area during and after events, perform side work during each shift as assigned and maintain clean and stocked service and dining areas.Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.Education, ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent education degree (GED) preferred but not required; less than one-year related experience; or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.Competencies, Skills, AbilitiesAbility to be adaptable and flexible.Ability to operate, clean and maintain equipment.Upholds Odyssey Values and the principles of HEART.Adhere to safety and sanitation standards.Respond to guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction.Foster and promote a cooperative working climate.Display honest and ethical behavior.Prioritizes and plans work activities.Uses time efficiently.Expresses self well in conversations with others with the ability to instill a sense of confidence in the company's services.Ability to accept constructive criticism while dealing calmly and effectively in high-stress situations.Maintains acceptable attendance and punctuality.Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating manuals, etc.Ability to effective present information and respond to customers.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.Ability to use a computer for job-related software programs.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, use hands, hear, talk and reach. The employee will seldom be required to stoop, kneel, taste and/or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee must be able to work at a fast pace for extended periods of time in a high-pressure environment.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to wet, hot, humid conditions, chemicals or other solutions, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and moderate to loud noise conditions.Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules that reflect the business needs of the resort.
