Senior Portfolio Manager (Head of Reuters NEXT)
Want to lead one of Reuters' most high-profile global platforms? Want to sit at the intersection of live journalism, global events, and digital engagement—while driving both editorial impact and commercial success? This could be the role for you.
Reuters Events is looking for a Senior Portfolio Manager (Head of Reuters NEXT) to lead the global Reuters NEXT platform—our flagship live journalism series.
Reuters NEXT convenes world leaders across business, government, and society to address the defining issues of our time. Co-curated with Reuters Editorial and amplified globally across Reuters platforms, it is a unique proposition that combines the authority of journalism with the impact of live event, executive-level convening and connection, and digital reach.
With rapid global expansion underway, this role will lead the continued growth of NEXT as a global series, a year-round platform, and a high-value membership community.
About the Role
As Senior Portfolio Manager (Head of Reuters NEXT), you will:
- Lead the strategic and commercial development of the Reuters NEXT global platform, overseeing its continued expansion across regions and formats
- Own the vision and delivery of NEXT as a live journalism product, co-curated with the Reuters newsroom and aligned to global editorial priorities
- Act as a bridge between Editorial, Events, Digital, and Commercial teams, ensuring alignment across content, audience, and revenue objectives
- Drive the global growth of the NEXT series, including new market launches and the evolution of existing flagship events
- Develop and nurture the Reuters NEXT membership community, building a high-value, year-round engagement platform for senior leaders
- Lead business planning, identifying new commercial opportunities, formats, and partnerships to grow the NEXT portfolio
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to drive revenue performance, ensuring strong commercial outcomes across sponsorship, partnerships, and audience growth
- Uphold Reuters' editorial integrity while enabling innovation in formats, content delivery, and audience engagement
- Introduce new ideas and products that extend NEXT beyond traditional events into a broader global platform
- Lead, develop, and inspire a global team, managing performance, resourcing, and development across multiple markets
- Operate effectively in a multi-stakeholder, international environment, aligning diverse teams around a single vision
- Collaborate with Event Operations to ensure delivery excellence, budget management, and an exceptional customer experience
About You
You're a fit for the role of Senior Portfolio Manager (Head of Reuters NEXT), if you have:
- Experience leading complex, high-profile event portfolios or media-led platforms with a strong commercial focus
- A track record of delivering commercial success, growing revenue across multiple channels and markets
- The ability to operate at the intersection of editorial, content, and commercial strategy, balancing integrity with growth
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across global, cross-functional teams
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to align diverse teams around shared objectives
- Experience building and scaling new products, formats, or business lines within a dynamic environment
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders, including editorial leaders, commercial partners, and C-level audiences
- A global outlook, with the ability to work across regions, cultures, and markets
- A passion for innovation and a willingness to test and evolve new ideas
- A strong leadership profile, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams
As part of the role, you'll work closely with Editorial, Digital, Sales, Marketing, and Event Operations to ensure Reuters NEXT continues to grow as a globally recognized, commercially successful, and editorially authoritative platform—delivering value for customers while maintaining the standards Reuters is known for.
