Respiratory Therapist RRT PRN

Job Overview Position: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – PRN. Minimum of 2 night shifts a week. This role allows you to be part of an organization committed to community service and professional growth. Key Responsibilities Assess respiratory status by performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, and determining the need for respiratory interventions. Deliver evidence-based therapy, including oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments in emergency, critical care, and acute settings. Manage ventilation and airways: assist with artificial airway placement, initiate and adjust invasive and noninvasive ventilation, monitor patient responses, and respond quickly to clinical changes or emergencies. Support patients and the care team by educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed. Maintain equipment and safety: set up, operate, and clean respiratory equipment; ensure readiness and preventive maintenance; transport ventilated patients safely; and follow infection-prevention standards. Qualifications Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/RCP-State) or equivalent (NBRC-RRT). Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor certification within 30 days of employment start date. Experience with invasive and noninvasive ventilation across a variety of care settings.
