Respiratory Therapist RRT PRN Peds NICU

Job Overview Respiratory Therapist RRT PRN Peds NICU – Minimum 2 night shifts per week. Responsible for providing high‑quality respiratory care in the pediatric NICU setting. Responsibilities Assess respiratory status through focused exams and interpretation of breath sounds. Deliver evidence‑based therapy including oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments. Manage ventilation and airways: assist with artificial airway placement, initiate and adjust invasive and non‑invasive ventilation, monitor patient responses, and respond to clinical changes or emergencies. Support patients and care team by educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and stabilizing newborns during deliveries when needed. Maintain equipment and safety by setting up, operating, cleaning respiratory equipment, ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance, transporting ventilated patients safely, and following infection‑prevention standards. Qualifications Graduated from an accredited Respiratory Care program recognized by the NBRC. One year of experience in Respiratory Care with documented training in NICU and/or Pediatrics. CRT, RRT certification by NBRC upon hire. License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Texas Medical Board. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider. PALS certification required within 30 days of hire. NRP certification required within 90 days of hire. ACLS preferred (facility requirements apply).
