Spring Grove Recovery is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team.

Spring Grove Recovery provides residential treatment services to individuals experiencing substance use disorders and related behavioral health needs. The Registered Nurse plays an essential role in assessing patient needs, administering medications and treatments, responding to emergencies, coordinating care, and supporting the daily clinical operations of the facility. The RN works closely with patients, medical providers, behavioral health professionals, nursing staff, and support staff to provide safe, respectful, and high-quality care.

Primary Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients
• Monitor patients to maintain a safe, therapeutic, and supportive treatment environment
• Identify and promptly communicate changes in a patient?s physical, behavioral, or mental-health condition
• Develop, implement, and update nursing care plans in coordination with the treatment team
• Obtain, monitor, and accurately document vital signs, symptoms, withdrawal indicators, medication responses, and changes in patient acuity
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders, applicable law, professional nursing standards, and Spring Grove Recovery procedures
• Maintain accurate medication-administration records and clinical documentation
• Monitor medication inventory and ensure medications and controlled substances are securely stored, counted, documented, and handled
• Help prevent medication diversion, loss, theft, misuse, or unauthorized access
• Obtain or coordinate laboratory and toxicology orders, collect specimens when appropriate, review results, and communicate significant findings to authorized providers
• Receive, transcribe, clarify, implement, and document physician or nurse practitioner orders
• Conduct or oversee admission nursing assessments and help determine whether prospective patients are medically appropriate for the facility?s level of care
• Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and referrals to higher levels of medical or psychiatric care
• Recognize and respond appropriately to medical emergencies, overdoses, withdrawal complications, behavioral-health crises, and other urgent situations
• Initiate emergency procedures and contact emergency medical services or authorized providers when necessary
• Provide patient education regarding medications, health conditions, treatment expectations, recovery, and discharge instructions
• Delegate nursing tasks appropriately and supervise the performance of delegated responsibilities
• Provide clinical guidance and oversight to LPNs and qualified support staff as assigned
• Serve as the supervisor on duty or designated clinical lead when assigned and appropriately qualified
• Lead or assist with patient community meetings or activities when needed
• Participate in shift reports, interdisciplinary treatment-team meetings, staff meetings, training, audits, and performance-improvement activities
• Assist with reviewing clinical documentation, medication records, incidents, and nursing practices for accuracy and compliance
• Report patient-safety concerns, suspected abuse or neglect, medication errors, adverse events, and policy violations through established procedures
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and Spring Grove Recovery policies
• Maintain professional boundaries and communicate respectfully with patients, families, coworkers, providers, pharmacies, laboratories, hospitals, and outside agencies
• Perform other duties consistent with the position?s qualifications and legal scope of practice

 

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or higher nursing degree from an approved nursing education program
• Current, active, and unrestricted Colorado Registered Nurse license, or a qualifying multistate license that permits practice in Colorado
• Current CPR/BLS certification from an approved provider
• Ability to obtain or maintain required First Aid, crisis-prevention, and facility-specific certifications
• Strong nursing assessment, clinical documentation, communication, and medication-administration skills
• Ability to make sound clinical decisions and respond effectively during emergencies
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries
• Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing substance use disorders, mental-health concerns, and behavioral challenges
• Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends or holidays when scheduled
• Authorization to work in the United States

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Two or more years of nursing experience
• Two or more years of experience in psychiatric nursing, substance use disorder treatment, detoxification, behavioral health, residential treatment, or a related healthcare setting
• Previous charge nurse, supervisory, or nursing leadership experience
• Experience assessing and monitoring patients for withdrawal symptoms or changes in medical and psychiatric condition
• Experience supervising LPNs and delegating responsibilities to qualified clinical support staff
• Experience using electronic health records and medication-administration systems
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification

• Occasionally lift, move, or assist with up to 50 pounds
