Our construction law and civil litigation firm in Dunedin, FL is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Civil Litigation Paralegal\ to support attorneys with a variety of construction, insurance, and civil litigation matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work, working closely with attorneys and clients, and supporting cases from initial intake through resolution.

Construction law or litigation experience is a plus, but strong civil litigation experience and a willingness to learn are highly valued. Insurance defense experience is also welcomed.

Position: Civil Litigation Paralegal – Construction Law

Applicant Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants should:

• Have 2+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant , preferably in civil litigation
• Have experience supporting attorneys with litigation and case management
• Have strong organizational and time-management skills
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Have strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Be comfortable conducting legal research and working with legal documents
• Be proficient with Microsoft Office and common legal technology
• Be able to commute to the office in Dunedin/Clearwater, FL, with some remote flexibility available
• Be willing to assist with court appearances, mediations, client meetings, and other case-related activities as needed

Construction law, insurance defense, lien, or contract experience is a plus, but not required.

Position Responsibilities

The Paralegal will work closely with attorneys and provide support across a variety of litigation and transactional matters, including:

• Assist attorneys with civil litigation matters from intake through resolution
• Organize and maintain case files, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents
• Assist with discovery , including document requests, interrogatories, requests for admission, and discovery responses
• Coordinate and organize documents for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
• Assist attorneys with preparation for depositions and court proceedings
• Conduct legal and factual research and assist with preparing research materials
• Prepare and format pleadings, motions, memoranda, correspondence, and other legal documents
• Assist with construction-related contracts, claims, liens, and other documents
• Assist with preparation and enforcement of construction liens and related filings
• Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and task lists
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, vendors, and other parties as directed by attorneys
• Assist attorneys with case strategy and preparation by organizing relevant facts, documents, and information
• Review and organize medical, financial, construction, insurance, and other case-related records as needed
• Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness materials, trial binders, and other supporting documents
• Enter and track billable time and maintain accurate case records
• Provide general administrative and litigation support to attorneys as needed
