Assembly Production SupervisorWhat a day looks like

You open the shift by reviewing the day’s plan with production control, then walk the line to confirm staffing and equipment readiness. You assign work, set expectations for safety and quality, and ensure each station is prepared to assemble, test, and package product correctly. As the work progresses, you coach team members, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and notify maintenance at the first sign of equipment trouble. Mid-shift, you verify documentation is accurate and signed, check schedule attainment, and adjust resources as needed. Before handoff, you complete evaluations and notes, close out reports and logs, and confirm the floor is safe and ready for the next team.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise assembly operations during the assigned shift.
• Train, guide, and oversee production employees; provide constructive, timely performance evaluations.
• Coordinate closely with production control on daily build requirements and priorities.
• Create and manage work schedules to maintain efficient throughput.
• Maintain working knowledge of processes, equipment, and work instructions.
• Ensure assemblies are produced, tested, and packaged to specification and quality standards.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues; escalate equipment problems to maintenance promptly.
• Champion compliance with all applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Verify all required paperwork and records are completed accurately and signed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Solid understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, production operations and machinery.
• Proven leadership and supervisory capability.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
• Effective time management with a track record of meeting deadlines.
• Analytical problem-solver with sound judgment.
• Ability to prioritize work and delegate appropriately.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools to complete reports and logs.

Education and experience

• Prior exceptional work experience in manufacturing is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical requirements

• Ability to move throughout the production facility.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds as needed.
