Summary

A premier, global law firm seeks a Senior Manager of Partner Recruiting to oversee and manage the recruitment, onboarding, and integration for all lateral partners across their Boston, New York, Miami, Washington, DC, and London offices. This role reports to the Senior Director of Legal Recruiting and works closely with Department Chairs, Office Managing Partners, and other stakeholders to identify, assess, and recruit lateral partners and groups in alignment with the firm’s lateral hiring priorities and growth strategy.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Senior Director of Legal Recruiting, Office Managing Partners, Department Chairs, and other stakeholders in assigned offices to identify hiring needs, strategic growth priorities, and target candidates.

• Work with the Senior Director of Legal Recruiting and other business services professionals to conduct market research and obtain competitive intelligence in order to build a robust lateral partner pipeline and drive forward the firm’s strategic growth plan.
\n
• Keep abreast of key market issues and trends; track information and analyze competitive data, best practices, and trends to provide strategic recommendations to the recruiting team, practice group, and firm leadership in alignment with the firm’s strategic recruitment goals.

• Cultivate relationships with search firm recruiters, counterparts in other firms, industry groups, and others, and regularly communicate the firm’s lateral hiring priorities and strategic goals.
\n
• Develop successful strategies and tactics for identifying and contacting potential candidates, and create bespoke approaches for the successful recruitment of each lateral partner candidate, including creation of optimal interview slates and targeted interview topics.
\n
• Review interview evaluations, LPQs, business plans, and related materials to identify areas requiring further analysis, and work with the Senior Director of Legal Recruiting and partners to execute additional due diligence on any such items.
\n
• Consult with the Senior Director of Legal Recruiting, firm management, and Office of Inclusion & Diversity professionals to develop and implement partner recruitment initiatives that support and advance the firm’s diversity commitment and goals.
\n
• Strategize with the Senior Director of Legal Recruiting and the internal marketing team to create effective marketing materials — including social media content and pitch materials — to support and enhance lateral partner recruiting objectives.
\n
• Supervise and contribute to the professional development of other members of the Legal Recruiting team involved in lateral partner hiring.
\n
• Represent the firm in local and national legal recruiting organizations.
\n
• Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

\n
• Minimum of 6+ years of legal recruiting/talent management experience in a law firm or other professional services setting, including experience with lateral partner recruiting, required.
\n
• Bachelor’s degree required; J.D. preferred.
\n
• Existing network of relationships with productive recruiters and search firms at the partner candidate level required.
\n
• Prior experience managing direct reports strongly preferred.
\n
• Strong knowledge of the legal market and relationships in legal professional groups and other organizations related to the legal industry.
\n
• Sophisticated strategic and analytical thinking, drive, initiative, and demonstrated problem-solving ability required.
\n
• Effective client service skills, with proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
\n
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and candidates at all levels.
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal recruiting databases and applicant tracking programs (e.g., LawCruit, viDesktop, Firm Prospects).
\n
• Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule that will occasionally require travel and extended hours.
\n
• Ability to exercise good judgment and to recognize and treat confidential information in a professional manner.

Compensation

$181,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually plus bonus.
