Pastry Prep Cook

The Pastry Prep Cook supports the pastry department in daily production of desserts and pastry components for service. This role requires precision, organization, and a passion for pastry arts. The ideal candidate is reliable, efficient, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, professional kitchen.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist with daily pastry and dessert preparation, including mixing, baking, portioning, and plating.
• Follow established recipes and presentation standards accurately and consistently.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations, equipment, and storage areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Prepare mise en place for pastry service and assist in replenishing items during service.
• Support pastry team with prep for special events, tastings, and seasonal menu changes.
• Properly label, store, and rotate ingredients to minimize waste.
• Communicate effectively with chefs and team members to ensure smooth service and production flow.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastry Chef or Executive Chef.

Qualifications

• Previous pastry or baking experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise recipes.
• Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Food Handler's Certification preferred but not required. Company will pay for certification upon starting employment.
• Passion for pastry arts and a desire to learn and grow in a professional kitchen environment.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
• Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual dexterity required.
• Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.

Schedule

• Flexible schedule required, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed based on business demand.
