Software Developer

Torch Technologies is seeking a skilled and security-conscious Software Developer to support our customers at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). The role is contingent upon contract award and requires a strong focus on security and automation throughout the software development lifecycle. Job Responsibilities Design and implement secure software architectures in collaboration with cybersecurity engineers and developers. Participate in threat modeling, security risk assessments, and the development of secure coding standards. Research and evaluate new technologies and frameworks to improve security and efficiency. Write and maintain well‑documented, testable code. Collaborate with network engineers to deploy and configure applications securely, contributing to Infrastructure as Code templates and automation. Develop and deploy applications in virtualized and cloud environments (VMware, AWS, Azure), implementing security controls, containers, microservices, and proper logging. Monitor the performance and security of applications, develop dashboards and reports to track key metrics. Document architectures, code, and security controls, and participate in training and knowledge sharing. Implement and maintain robust logging and auditing mechanisms. Qualifications U.S. citizenship; active Top Secret clearance required, TS/SCI and SAP eligibility preferred. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (or 6 years of experience in lieu of degree). 8 to 12+ years of experience in software development. Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices. Experience with at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, Go, C#). Experience with secure coding practices (OWASP Top 10). Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST 800‑series, DoD RMF, DISA STIGs). Experience with Git version control. Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Clearance level must be maintained throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in computer science or related field. Desired experience with security testing tools and techniques. Desired certifications: Security+, Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CSSLP, CEH. Desired experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
