Plastic Extrusion Operator

EXTRUSION EXPERIENCE NEEDED!!

BBSI is seeking a skilled Extrusion Operator to join our production team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating extrusion machinery to safely produce high-quality plastic sheets used in food storage products, including containers and lids. The ideal candidate ensures consistent product quality, meets production goals, and follows all safety and quality standards.

Schedule & Compensation

• Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
• Pay: $25.00/hour base (higher depending on experience)
• Shift Premium: $2.00/hour (night shift)
• Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate extrusion lines to produce plastic sheets according to specifications, including custom sizes, thicknesses, and resin blends (virgin, regrind, color master batch).
• Monitor the extrusion process to maintain consistent quality and production rates.
• Inspect products for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and other quality standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to quality, output, or machine performance.
• Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members regarding safety, quality, and production concerns.
• Follow all company GMP, quality, and safety procedures .
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and clean extrusion equipment as needed.
• Accurately document production data, machine settings, and quality inspections.
• Assist with other production tasks as required.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous manufacturing or extrusion experience preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Basic understanding of extrusion processes (temperature, pressure, screw speed) and product quality checks.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate industrial machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
• Effective problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment or process issues.
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and able to communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers.
• Basic math skills and ability to record production data accurately.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to walk, stand, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Work in a noisy environment (80+ decibels) requiring hearing protection.

Work Environment

• Production floor environment with extrusion equipment.
• Must follow all safety and quality protocols.
• Fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
