Executive Director Clinical Operations, Program Management (Cell Therapy)

AstraZeneca seeks an Executive Director to lead global clinical operations and program management for cell therapy development across multiple franchises. The role involves strategic oversight of early-stage in vivo, allogeneic, and autologous cell therapies, managing a global team of 50+ across five countries while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement clinical operations strategies across cell therapy franchises and therapeutic areas
• Provide strategic oversight of global cell therapy clinical studies to meet time, cost, quality, and regulatory standards
• Build and lead a global team across program management roles, setting vision and performance standards
• Serve on enterprise governance committees including Protocol Review and key decision bodies
• Establish portfolio priorities, key metrics, and delivery strategies for leadership communication

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 12+ years drug development experience with direct clinical operations background
• Line management experience overseeing senior directors and teams of 20+
• Demonstrated track record developing others and improving team capabilities
• Functional experience in clinical operations improvement initiatives and budget planning
• Strong influencing, stakeholder, and supplier management skills
• Experience leading global teams across multiple countries (desirable)
