Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our MedSurg/Telemetry unit. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Med/Surg & Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 36
• Nurse:Patient Ratio: 1:4

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure (CHF), hypertension, chest pain, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure.
• Monitor and titrate medications for pain management, blood clots, and blood pressure control.
• Read telemetry strips and escalate concerns to physicians as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure effective patient care.
• Float within designated zones based on unit and departmental needs when requested.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar nursing role.
• Certifications: Current ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required.
• Skills: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred. Ability to provide care in a telemetry setting and manage titratable drips is essential.

Shift Information

• Shift Type: Night shifts with a commitment to working 6-9 weekends in a 6-week schedule.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
• Orientation: Required in-state presence for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely.

Additional Information

• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available.
• Weekend and holiday shifts are required as part of the staffing plan.
• Scrubs are not provided; no specific dress code.
• Contact with Charge Nurse and House Supervisor is routine, with charge nurse responsibilities including patient assignment.
