The PositionAs a Dentist with the Department of Corrections (DOC), you will play an important part in delivering reliable dental services at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Laurel Highlands. Step into a role where your experience and commitment make a lasting impact.Description Of WorkThis position provides dental care, evaluates oral health needs, and leads clinical staff to support efficient and effective operations at SCI Laurel Highlands. The role focuses on patient treatment, staff guidance, and compliance with standards for dental practice and secure procedures. As a Dentist, you will perform the following duties:Patient Evaluation: Perform examinations, review medical histories, diagnose oral diseases, and prepare treatment plansClinical Procedures: Provide restorative, endodontic, surgical, and preventative treatments while maintaining infection control standardsCare Coordination: Consult with and refer patients to physicians, oral surgeons, and other health care specialists as neededStaff Leadership: Direct dental assistants and hygienists, provide training, review performance, and support corrective actionsOperational Review: Examine schedules, records, requests, and documentation to ensure compliance with quality and procedural standardsSupply Oversight: Monitor inventory, approve replenishment, and maintain security, tool control, and toxic and caustic controlInterested in learning more?
