Our busy trucking company is looking for a high energy, organized People Operations Specialist to join our team in St. Cloud. This role owns two things: weekly payroll and growing our team. You will process payroll from start to finish, handle our prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting, and run recruiting and onboarding for office staff and drivers. Payroll here is more than cutting checks. We run prevailing wage jobs, which means certified payroll reporting is a core part of this role every single week. And because we are a trucking company, hiring never really stops. You will be the first person our new drivers and employees meet. This position is fully in person at our St. Cloud, MN office. No remote or hybrid options. What You Will Do Payroll Process weekly payroll for hourly employees according to company, federal, and state guidelines Compile, calculate, and submit all prevailing wage and certified payroll reports Manage time and attendance systems and keep records accurate Handle child support orders, garnishments, deductions, and wage increases Prepare and pay employer and employee taxes and payroll liabilities Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting including W2s, 940, 941, Sales Tax, and IFTA (we will train you on IFTA if you have not done it before) Track PTO, sick, and safe time Recruiting and Onboarding Post openings, screen applicants, schedule and conduct interviews for office and driver positions Run new hire background checks and pre–employment screening, including DOT requirements for drivers Onboard new employees and truckers: paperwork, payroll and benefits setup, systems access, and first day readiness Keep driver qualification files and new hire records complete and compliant Assist with regulatory compliance and general administrative functions Other duties as assigned What You Need Required Working knowledge of prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting. This is non negotiable. Be ready to walk us through how you handled prevailing wage compliance in a past role. Knowledge of payroll and time/attendance systems, wage and overtime regulations, and payroll processes Strong attention to detail. Payroll runs weekly and errors are not an option. High school diploma or GED, or one to two years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination Must be at least 18 years of age Preferred Experience in the trucking or transportation industry, especially driver recruiting or DOT compliance Experience recruiting, interviewing, or onboarding hourly employees QuickBooks experience Excel proficiency Who You Are Consistently at work and on time. Deadlines here do not move. Dependable. You follow through, take ownership, and put in the hours when a deadline demands it. A people person on the hiring side and a numbers person on the payroll side. This role needs both.
